General

There is no charge for drivers to scan and send documents using Drive Axle.

Yes, Drive Axle will work on any iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or Android tablet, as long as the device has a working camera.

The first time you use Drive Axle, you’ll be asked permission to take pictures.  If you deny camera permissions, you will have to enable another way. You can either go to Settings and in your list of Apps, tap Drive Axle and enable the Camera permissions.  If you prefer, you can uninstall Drive Axle and reinstall it from the App Store. After reinstalling, you will be prompted to give camera access to the app again.

No.  To control the number of documents displayed in Sent Documents:

  1. Open the Drive Axle app
  2. Tap the menu in the upper left corner and select Settings
  3. Under Document Visibility, specify the timeframe for which you’d like to display Sent Documents.  You can also elect to see All documents.

Drive Axle uses standard font sizes, but if you need to make the text a bit larger, you can do so by modifying the settings on your mobile device.  How to do so varies by phone, but in general:

  • iPhone & iPad – Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size
  • Android & Tablet – Settings > Accessibility > Visibility Enhancements > Font Size & Style

If the above instructions don’t work on your mobile device, try Googling how to make text larger for your specific phone or tablet.

Your Account

  1. Open the Drive Axle app
  2. Tap the menu in the upper left corner and select Settings
  3. Tap Logout in the upper right corner
  1. On the Drive Axle Login screen, tap Reset Password
  2. Enter your email address and tap Reset My Password
  3. You will receive an email containing a link to create a new password
  4. Tap the Change My Password link in the email to set your new password
  5. After setting a new password, open the Drive Axle app again and provide your username and new password

Sending Documents

Sending documents with Drive Axle as easy!

  1. Open the Drive Axle app
  2. Tap Capture Document and enter the email address for the document recipient, or tap Choose Contact to select someone from your mobile phone contacts
  3. If you’d like, provide a Shipment Number, BOL Number, and Document Type, and tap Next
  4. With your document ready, tap to capture an image, or select an image from your mobile device by clicking the photo icon in the lower left corner.  
  5. The next couple of screens allow you to modify the image
    1. On the Preview screen, you can rotate the image if you need to
    2. Drive Axle does it’s best to crop your image correctly, but if the margins are off you can adjust them by dragging the corners to where they need to be on the Trim Page screen
  6. If you want to add multiple pages, tap Add Page.  Otherwise, tap Send in the upper right corner

Follow the process up to taking a picture of a document and when the camera is open, tap the image icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  1. Make sure the phone a slight distance away from your document
  2. Hold the phone steady from the time you tap to capture until your preview appears on the screen
  3. Take your photo in bright, preferably natural lighting, if at all possible
  4. Check your device’s camera lens and make sure it isn’t dirty or foggy
  1. Open the Drive Axle app and tap Capture Document
  2. On the Document Info screen, tap the trash can icon to the right of your saved email addresses
  3. You’ll be asked to confirm you want to delete the email address
  1. Open the Drive Axle app
  2. Tap the menu in the upper left corner and select Sent Documents
  3. Tap on the document you want to delete
  4. Tap the trash can icon in the upper right corner
  5. You’ll be asked to confirm you want to delete the document
  1. Open the Drive Axle app
  2. Tap the menu in the upper left corner and select Sent Documents
  3. If you see a green checkmark to the left of your recipient, an email has been sent to the recipient and the document is available for them to view
